ARA Estimates Lower Manhattan Tourism Post-Hurricane Sandy

While Hurricane Sandy negatively impacted nearly all of Lower Manhattan’s major tourist attractions, ARA calculated that the total number of visitors in 2012 still hit a record 11.5 million. Statue Cruises to Liberty and Ellis Islands will resume by July 4, 2013 and Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport will remain open through the summer, although many stores in the Seaport’s cobblestone area and side streets are still under reconstruction.

ARA will continue to track visitors to Lower Manhattan on an annual basis. DownloadReport
